Multi-Talented singer, songwriter, producer, and actor; Ricky Dillard,
is a "Ball of Fire for God" that has scorched an indelible mark
of music. With his endless energy and his unyielding command of
music, Dillard has reached a humble plateau of success. Grammy nominee,
motion picture star, music chart topper, and prime time television
star, God just continues to plate jewels in this young mans crown.
A third prodigy, his career took an early ascension with recognition
as an acclaimed choir director, vocal coach, and minister of music.
Reverend Milton Brunson quickly honed and fine tuned Ricky's talents
as a member of the 'Thompson Community Singers'. He would go on
to release solo projects and form 'The New Generation Chorale'.
It was through this Chorale that Ricky would get God's just reward
for his faithfulness to the lord. The Chorale's first project: 'The
Promise', garnered a Grammy nomination and the second project, 'A
Holy Ghost Takeover', earned the most coveted 'Stellar Award'
for Album of the Year. Ricky would steadfast lead New Generation
through such projects as PBS's Going Home to Gospel with Patti Labelle,
NBC's Comic Relief Salutes Michael Jordan, ABC's Paula Poundstone
Show, the Annual Stellar Awards, BET's Bobby Jones Gospel, and The
'Grammy Nominated' and Stellar Award Winning project with the 'Queen'
of Gospel Albertina Walker.
Dillard's next medium of conquest was motion pictures, with a starring
role in the Paramount Pictures "Leap of Faith". He had the honor
of starring in a role created just for him by the movie writer.
One writer said, "We saw the 'Going Home Gospel' special and their
was Ricky just about to launch off the choir's stand. We wanted
the energy and visual effects that Dillard had".
This would catapult Dillard to many uplifting and exhilarating
national appearances, including the "Arsenio Hall Show". Walt Disney
Production would later tall upon Dillard to serve as choir consultant
for their movie 'Sister Act II".
1996 greeted Ricky Dillard and New G with their fourth live recording
entitled "Worked It Out", due to release in October. Full of the
energy and spirit filled songs that they are known for, "Worked
It Out" delivers the message in a way that is sure to continue their
ground swell of popularity. With the expertise of the award winning
co producer Donald Lawrence and a new record company partnership
with Crystal Rose and Star Song, Ricky Dillard and New G are experiencing
God guidance and favor with much more on the horizon.
